I ended up taking a different work path than I originally intended when i graduated high school.

The reason for this was because the classes at the school were only at evening, plus I did not want to go to evening school.

I originally wanted to become a certified heating plus air conditioner specialist. But when I looked at all the schools in the area to get our heat plus a/c certification they all turned out to be evening classes. With myself and others having to work in the day there was no way I could go to school at evening plus then come beach beach house plus get right to bed to be up early in the day for work. So I scrapped the idea of becoming a certified heating plus air conditioner specialist plus ended up becoming an electrician instead. They had respected day classes unlike the heating plus air conditioner schools. I wonder why the heat plus a/c schools only had evening classes? It just did not make sense to me! Being an teacher at a college where they teach Heating, Ventilation, & A/C certification courses, I have seen a lot of things.

Some of our students have no trouble doing the labor & going on to being terrific Heating, Ventilation, & A/C specialists. There are some students that no matter what they do, they just can’t get the hang of the task. I had 1 young man who had me holding our breath in an attempt not to laugh at him. Every one of us were in class with some outdated a/c units & oil furnaces that had been deliberately sabotaged. The future Heating, Ventilation, & A/C techs had to go to the furnace & the a/c unit in teams, & find everything that was wrong with the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C equipment. One team had every spot that was sabotaged, but it took them nearly an minute. Another team quit after an minute & they hadn’t found a single 1 of the sabotaged parts. Then the fifth team got up to the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C equipment. They were suddenly figuring out what our team of teachers had done to the furnace & a/c unit. The funny area came when 1 of the team members got overly distraught & dropped his screwdriver into the A/C unit. His embarrassment was quite funny, & some of his classmates couldn’t hold back their laughter however I had to. Fortunately for me, when I got home, I was able to laugh at him all I wanted. It was so much fun seeing our son flounder when he lost that screwdriver. He’s going to make a relaxing Heating, Ventilation, & A/C specialist 1 morning, but he needs to learn to take his time.

I used to feel that baking entailed opening up the tube of cookie dough and slapping it on the pan, once I had so much free time on our hands last year, because COVID put me out of labor and trapped me in our apartment, I decided to try making cookies from scratch, however it was a disaster, but it was such a fun disaster that I wanted to try again.

The air filter was also available on Amazon Prime, which meant I showed up on our doorstep the next day, with better air quality in the kitchen, I can really enjoy our cooking process.

I finally passed our test for HVAC certification.

I felt foolish needing to take the test twice, although I was told that most people did.

Apparently it was normal to get nervous and pull a blank when they got to the test room. Two days after taking the test for the third time, I got our grade. I found out I had aced the test. My next hurdle was to get a task. I had various interviews set up and I was nervous, but ready. I got up early and I ate a fantastic lunch. My wifey wanted me to have something in our stomach so I didn’t get sick, or end up with a headache. I walked out the door, ready for that interview. When I got to the HVAC dealer, I told the receptionist I was there about the open HVAC position. She told me to take a seat and I would be called when it was our turn. I looked in the room where she directed me, and there were numerous of the men I went to university with. My heart fell and I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to sit here for undoubtedly long. When the receptionist came out, she handed each of us a booklet and told us to answer all questions to the best of our ability. I was surprised to see that it was a test almost exactly like that I had to take for our HVAC certification. I hastily answered every question and handed her back the packet. I may not get the task, although I knew I would get a single soon. I was a fantastic HVAC serviceman.
