Even before this global pandemic changed the way that everybody was able to live, I will divulge that I was semi agoraphobic.

For many years I ventured to the hardware store to buy our air filters for the and forced air furnace that I use with our central Heating plus A/C system. I didn’t actually like the errand of attending the hardware store just for an air filter or several, but I couldn’t locate the certain air filters that I needed for our Heating plus A/C system anywhere else. Eventually, the heating and cooling company began distributing their air filters more widely. This week, I’m so glad to say that I can order a dozen air filters online for our indoor air handling devices. I never have to leave the home again and our indoor air quality has been amazing.

When my hubby was looking for a condo she did her best, but she had a really small budget plus there weren’t several properties that would fit with her financial constraints.

She also could not live really far from her new location of labor because a long commute would cost him too much time plus money, then eventually, she wound up settling down in a home that is… less than perfect! Don’t get myself and others wrong, the property plus the apartment are particularly elegant. The problem is the neighbors. There is a water treatment plant directly across the street from my hubby’s house. It’s severely expensive to rely on your central Heating, Ventilation & A/C system for stench reduction. However, there is no option unless you want to gag 24 hours a afternoon. I hope that someday all of us can invest in an air cleaner to split down on our energy costs. Or, better yet, transfer to a new apartment with less airborne pollution.

The people I was with and I took other small steps, like using a clothesline plus buying in bulk! And both of us did eat a lot more Ramen Noodles. It took us almost several years but within the next month or so, both of us will have the money for a brand new energy efficient Heating plus Air Conditioning system

I had gone multiple years without taking a single holiday from work.

My supplier changed its policies right before I took our position plus restricted paid time off to employees that had been with the supplier for multiple or more years.

Living paycheck to paycheck makes taking a holiday on our own dime completely out of the question. So by the time I was ready to request our first PTO holiday, I was brimming with excitement. One of our friends from university had talked to myself and others at length regarding the 2 of us taking a cross-country road trip. Both of us hadn’t seen each other in years plus it was something all of us discussed doing in university at length a number of times. He flew in from a few states north of our location, plus all of us planned to take our aged SUV for the trip. Occasionally I get stuck in habits that last for years on end.

I said I would never try a cigarette, however peer pressure got the best of myself and others when I was a school freshman.

My friends all smoked so I started buying packs before evenings when we would throw large parties on campus. Before long I had developed a nasty nicotine habit. The immediate side effects had nothing to do with our health, although that eventually became a problem a few years down the road when our lung troubles started. In the beginning, it was the financial burden of smoking yearly. It was disheartening seeing so much of our hard gained cash going towards that habit. By the time I hit 30, I had finally had enough of smoking cigarettes every single day of our life. Breaking that habit was a life changing experience for me. When the Heating and Air Conditioning plan was laboring harder, there was more energy use

Every month for the last several weeks, I have watched our energy bill get a little higher. At first it was just a couple dollars. This month it went up over $10 more than the previous week. Over several weeks, our energy bill has gone up over $40. I have never seen our energy bill this high. I knew that there had to be something in our house that was causing this much of a raise. I started checking to make sure all the lights were out and that our child hadn’t forgotten to unplug his blow dryer or curling iron. I guess he had done it before. I also tested to make sure the control unit was all turned off in the unused rooms. When I ran out of energy thieves to check, I called the Heating and Air Conditioning dealer. I wanted them to do an energy loss test on our home. When the Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman finally arrived, he asked when I had last had our air duct cleaned, and if I had our air conditioning unit worked on. I admitted I had forgotten to have the AC unit worked on, even though I had never had our air duct cleaned. The Heating and Air Conditioning tech told myself and others that if there was a lot of dust and debris in the air duct, it could cause the Heating and Air Conditioning plan to work harder. When the Heating and Air Conditioning plan was laboring harder, there was more energy use. I had the air duct cleaned and the AC unit worked on. Now, I just need to wait to see if the energy bill goes down over the next several bills.
