Today is a day of clearing the mind and resting the body. Yesterday was a long day and we did a lot of sports and partying and my body is telling me to slow down today and rest. I can still hear my dad’s words telling me “you gotta learn to relax”, so today I’ll heed his advice and just stay in and rest. I have some work to do online, only about an hour or so, and then I am going to do a seated meditation and just let my mind relax and listen to the music. The local business near me is having a sale on fruits and veggies because their refrigeration system is not working well and they don’t want the food to go bad. I will go there in another hour once my work is done and see what kind of food they have that interests me. I could talk to them about their HVAC system problem to see if they need some help with it. I have some good connections in the industry and I think I can help them out by getting them a good price on a new system. My boss sells HVAC systems for businesses like theirs and I will see if they want him and I to come by to take a look at what they have in there now and if we have a refrigeration system that we could install. Maybe they could pay us in fruit and vegetables instead of cash, haha right. I’m sure my HVAC rep boss wouldn’t want 5000 apples and oranges.

My hands are finally warm and I think this hot water bottle was the secret.

I let my hands sit on the hot bottle and it slowly heats them up to the point where they are no longer cold. It takes a while to get the blood warm in the hands, but if you are patient with the hot water bottle it usually does the trick in warming them up. My feet also feel cold so I will put the hot water bottle on my feet soon and let it do its job of warming them up too. Heating devices are also good at warming up cold body parts, but I like to save money with my power bills and just use a hot water bag instead. I have a good setup in my flat now that I have a roommate, and it is a lot less stressful now that my bills are basically cut in half. She works for this local business and doesn’t make a lot of money, so I gave her a lower rent because she is such a good roommate. I pay about $150 more in rent but it is fine with me because I still have enough money to pay all my bills each month and save a little. We just try to use the furnace and a/c unit less so that we can save money on the electric bills each month. The weather is pretty mild right now so we won’t have to worry about using it for another couple of months or so.

My fiance plus I got a divorce when our son was 12 years old… My fiance moved away plus I did not get to see my son entirely often. My fiance was not the best mother plus our son had a couple of troubles when he was a teenager, but he ended up in a lot of trouble plus had to serve community repair when he got busted for vandalism, but a month after he was done with his community repair sentence, he was caught up in a burglary. My fiance was worried that our son was going to end up in prison, so she called me. My associate and I arranged for our son to transport in with me, then i did not know how things were going to be, because I had not seen my son in 5 years. I thought that it was going to be difficult for the two of us to get along. It was unbelievable for my son to be away from his friends plus his mother. I saw a whole strange child after he moved in with me. He started going to university every single day plus he stayed out of trouble. He graduated from high university plus started a technical university program at the correspondent university. In 14 months he managed to gain a degree in Heating, Ventilation and A/C science. He got his Nate certification plus now works as an Heating, Ventilation and A/C installation tech for a large commercial plus residential repair corporation. My fiance tries to take all of their credit for sending our son to live with me, but Jack did all of the hard work on his own.

I always looked forward to visiting my grandfather’s home.

Something about him and his house always made me feel comfortable and loved.

Every time I was there, I always went to the living room. It was the warmest place in his whole house. That is because he had a fireplace and besides the warmth, watching the flames was mesmerizing as well as the cracking sound of the wood burning. I would lay on his couch and watch the flames until I would doze off. It was the most comforting place out of any I could think of. My parent’s house wasn’t that great and the heater hardly worked at all. I guess it probably worked but the walls were so thin that it felt like either the heat was escaping, or cold air was rushing in. It wasn’t comforting at all and I know they had an HVAC tech come to the house and he said there wasn’t anything wrong with the HVAC system. He said other things but I wasn’t really listening. After all, I am only ten so heating and cooling aren’t really important to me unless I’m cold or hot. All I know is the winter or cold summer nights are always a great place to be at grandpa’s. He will make sure that I’m comfortable and have a great night of sleep. I know my parents love the fact I like going there but they really don’t know that I want to be home. I just find that the heat from the fireplace feels safer and more comforting.

I made the decision that this year my family will enjoy heated floors in our house.

I’m very excited about this addition because I always wanted them.

I know this can be expensive and I’m prepared to pay whatever the cost but it is something that’s going to happen. I know every year I make a new addition or change to the house and my wife says I can. I’m sure she would let me do more but I’ll stick to one change a year. I make enough money to do multiple changes to the house but I want to always look forward to something new every year. Last year wasn’t so exciting but a new roof is still nice. I think my son isn’t exactly on board for the heated floors but I’m sure he will be fine eventually. He tends to forget he hates stepping on the cold floor during the winter. I already contacted the HVAC company and spoke to Tom, who happens to be the HVAC tech that will be doing the heated floors. The one thing that my wife has and I don’t have is a job working from home so I can schedule repairs or new things every year. I’m slightly jealous that she has that lifestyle but it’s good that one of us has it. Then again, I don’t think I can work from home all the time. I love getting out and talking to people. The heated floor installation will take place next week and Tom said it won’t take very long and we can enjoy them by the weekend.

I really didn’t know what to think when my husband talked about getting heated floors installed in our home.

I thought we already had a great heating system and I saw no reason to spend money on something that wasn’t needed.

I kind of liked the cool floors and the refreshing feeling they provided. Also, we had a lot of other upgrades we could do for the house but then again he gets to choose one upgrade to our house each year. So I really don’t question his decisions on that because nine times out of ten he makes the right call. I trust this man to continue to make great decisions for our family. He hasn’t let us down so far. So the heated floors needed to be installed by an HVAC tech which wasn’t something I really thought we needed but my husband already contacted the heating and cooling company. I know he wants to do the whole house and that I know can be extremely pricey but my husband makes really good money and he knows our expenses better than anyone of us. The only thing that he really didn’t take into account was our son who really didn’t want the heated floors installed but I’m sure when the weather gets colder, the heated floors will be an amazing addition to the house. So the HVAC tech named Tom came over and laid out a plan with my husband for when the installation will begin. I work from home so our schedule is available anytime but I’m hoping that the HVAC tech isn’t noisy installing them or I might lose my mind.

I remember how fascinated I was when the HVAC tech came to our house to install the heated floors.

I was skeptical when I heard that my dad intended to put heated floors in our house. I couldn’t see why we needed something like that when we already had a great heating system in place, plus I like to walk on the cool floors. But as the cold winter months came and the temperature started to drop, I saw the importance of the heated floors and my dad surprised me. I started to realize during the winter I wanted the floors warm and walking around the house with warm floors under my feet felt so nice and soothing. I forgot about winter and how much I hated taking that first step out of bed on the floors because they were so cold. Now, they are warm and it’s a feeling that I can enjoy, although getting out of bed in the morning no matter what isn’t something I like doing. But it wasn’t just the warmth of the floors that made me happy. My dad has gone out of his way to make the house more pleasant for all of us. I remember how fascinated I was when the HVAC tech came to our house to install the heated floors. How dedicated he was to making sure that everything my dad envisioned was exactly what he wanted for all of us. I’m sure this is just another day for the HVAC expert, but to us, this was a big step. Even though at the time I didn’t really care for the heated floors, I’m just excited now that they were installed and the winter months getting out of bed is far better now than before.

I don’t understand why my sister is so jealous of me.

Actually, maybe I do, it could be because I’m the second child and I get pretty much everything I want but is that normal for parents to do that to their children? I understand some parents are in a trial and error with the first child and maybe some of the mistakes they had with my sister are something they don’t want to create with me.

My sister is 16 and I am 13 so I can understand that she feels that she has more of a say in things. Unfortunately for her she doesn’t, but for me this is great! I pretty much have a “get out of jail” free card which I will never lose. My parents let me suggest movies to watch, I have the choice of what we are going to eat for dinner a couple of times a week, and I get to control the temperature on the electric heater. On top of that, the electric heater has a smart thermostat so I can change the temperature of the house when I’m laying in bed. I still don’t know why my parents let me control the temperature of the house but I’m not going to complain. The house is usually set to 66 degrees every day which I feel is a comfortable temperature but not for my sister. She wants that up 10 degrees to 76. That is something I can’t stand and many times she is told to grab a blanket and wear her slippers. I understand her jealousy but I have the power and until that is taken away from me, I have control of the electric heater!

My family likes to keep messing with the dial thermostat all the time.

They don’t know if they like to have the electric heater on or off.

My brother claims that the electric heating after a period of time makes him feel sick but I feel fine. My parents do everything for him and if he isn’t feeling good about something, then they will adjust to make sure he is fine. They really don’t care if they are cold or not. I can say I need the electric heater on and it stinks that my voice isn’t heard. They tell me to grab a blanket and put on slippers to keep my feet warm. This isn’t acceptable. I live here as well and they need to know that my needs are important! Recently, my dad had an HVAC technician install a smart thermostat for my brother and he has access to it or his cellphone. This is a bit ridiculous because I don’t have access. It’s not only the electric heating he controls. My brother gets to choose what we eat for dinner on Wednesdays and Saturdays. My mom claims it’s “national weekly sons days.” What about daughter days? If we want to watch a movie, he chooses the type of film we watch. It’s annoying! I love my brother and my family but things have to change. I don’t want to adjust for someone else every time they want something their way. It’s getting to that point that I need to talk to my parents about the smart thermostat and the heating controls. I’m tired of not being heard.

I want the whole experience and feel the exhaustion of being outdoors all day

While I was on vacation, feeling the cool breeze of the air conditioning was calming. Getting back into the hotel room, feeling that refreshing air-conditioned air after a long day of being outside discovering new things while basking in the sun is a great sensation. The heat, humidity, and fatigue from being in the sun all day are exhausting. The feeling of cool air on my skin relaxes my mind and body. My stress levels sometimes reduce as my body temperature lowers. This most definitely helps me sleep at night, especially the first night at a brand-new hotel I have never been to before. I love to go on vacations and get out and do tons of things. I just want my experience in the hotel room to be as comforting as I would be outside. I would expect when I’m outdoors, I’ll be in the heat and sun and I have to dress lightly to feel comfortable enough to sightsee or enjoy the beach. When I’m back at the hotel room, I expect the air conditioning to be on, the air quality to be great and the hotel has routine HVAC maintenance done. I don’t want to sit in the hotel all day but I could and I would love to when someone spends money on a vacation to enjoy it, you have to get yourself in some temperatures that are not ideal. I want the whole experience and feel the exhaustion of being outdoors all day. It’s not a big deal after all. Having a great experience from being outdoors to indoors is the experience of every vacation I have.
