The Best HEPA Air Purifiers

Today is an afternoon of clearing the mind and resting the body.

Yesterday was a long afternoon and we did a lot of athletic activities and partying and my body is telling me to slow down today and rest, but I can still hear my dad’s words telling me “you gotta learn to relax”, so today I’ll heed his advice and just stay in and rest.

I have some work to do online, only about an hour or so, and after that I am going to do a seated meditation and just let my mind relax and listen to the songs. The local dealer near me is having a sale on fruits and veggies because their refrigeration system is not working well and they don’t want the food to go bad. I will go there in another hour once my work is done and see what kind of food they have that interests me. I could talk to them about their HVAC system problems to see if they need some help with it. I have some good connections in the industry and I know I can help them out by getting them a good price on a new system. My boss sells HVAC systems for businesses like theirs and I will see if they want him and I to come by to take a look at what they have in there now and if we have a refrigeration system that we could install. Maybe they could pay us in fruit and vegetables instead of cash, haha right. I’m sure my HVAC rep boss wouldn’t want 5000 peaches and oranges.

My hands are finally warm and I know this hot water bottle was the secret.

I let my hands rest on the hot bottle and it slowly heats them up to the point where they are no longer cold. It takes a while to get the blood warm in the hands, but if you are patient with the hot water bottle it usually does the trick in warming them up! My feet also feel cold so I will put the water bottle on my feet soon and let it do its job of warming them up too. Heating devices are also good at warming up cold body parts, although I like to save cash with my power bills and just use a hot water bottle instead. I have a good setup in my flat now that I have a roommate, and it is a lot less stressful now that my bills are basically cut in half. She works for this local dealer and doesn’t make a lot of cash, so I gave her a lower rent because she is such a good roommate. I pay about $150 more in rent but it is fantastic with me because I still have enough cash to pay all my bills each month and save a little. We just try to use the furnace and air conditioning unit less so that we can save cash on the electric bills each month. The weather is pretty mild right now so we won’t have to worry about using it for another couple of months or so.

I will work for a little bit longer and then I will rest my eyes for an hour and do some yoga. My flatmate is here and I will hang out with her to get in some socializing because this town can isolate you with the packed streets that are too difficult to navigate. It gets really crowded with rowdy tourists and I end up staying in the flat too much, and when my flatmate is gone I end up talking to the cats most of the day. So while she is here I will visit with her with air conditioning blowing in the background to keep us cool on these toasty days. She is a cool roommate and we are just staying friends so there is no drama. She works at this local business and I sometimes go down there to visit her and enjoy some free climate control while I listen to a band playing in the pub. We have fun hanging out here some nights just listening to music and telling funny stories about life, and sometimes we just sit and listen to music without saying a word. I will clean the HEPA filter later when she leaves so that it is ready for the a/c unit that is going to be running almost nonstop pretty soon. I think the summer heat is going to be here really soon so I want to be ready for it when it arrives. The cooling supplier has a sale on thermostats and we are thinking about getting one for our unit.

If I can muster up the energy to write two more articles today then tomorrow I will have a nice light workload.

I think I could get my work done tomorrow in about an hour and a half and then have the rest of the day to play some ball with my friends.

I think today is a bit too windy for volleyball, so this is the perfect day to relax at home and play with my cats. It is warm in this flat as it has some great insulation and newer windows, as opposed to some homes with air conditioning on the whole year. It is not the normal a/c that you are thinking of, but more like the a/c that comes from old windows that leak cold air into the house all winter long. This place was built 12 years ago and seems to be built pretty well. I like that it has a central heating and air conditioning system because dragging those dumb space heaters around from room to room gets old really fast. And living in the summer without cool air in the flat is just downright miserable. This place has a great a/c system and it really comes in handy during those hot summer nights when the low temp is 90F all night. I’ve tried to sleep in a bedroom during the summer with just a fan and it is next to impossible to do. Now I can crank the smart thermostat down all night and sleep like a bear in the nice cool room.

Last night we saw UFO Man on the street stumbling along with his walkie talkie.

• I don’t know if he is drunk or what, but walking around with a walkie talkie and a huge headband, while carrying a box of wine in his hand probably tells me that he’s had one too many.

He wears sunglasses and this wide headband that hangs down about three feet while he stumbles along trying to get somewhere. This town is full of these characters that blow in for a few weeks and entertain everyone and then they suddenly disappear. The local contractor usually is around to see the action as he has a local business right there on the coast, but yesterday he was out of town doing some other work and didn’t get a chance to see this clown. I don’t know if this guy lives on the streets but I don’t think he is a businessman for some office job. The weather is heating up and funny people start to come out of the woodwork like this guy, so tonight could be a fun night to go out and just people watch. I will finish my work in an hour and then take it easy for a bit in front of my fireplace while I read a book or just chill. I think it will be cold out tonight so I am planning on wearing lots of clothes to stay warm while I go watch the sunset and look for the characters like the UFO Man. Things are for sure heating up!

There are a bunch of good volleyball players out on the beach right now, but they aren’t my clan and are a bit closed minded, so I just stay away from them.

Some of these volleyball players have over inflated egos and put themselves on a lonely pedestal thinking they are better than you. This is a small minded person and I don’t choose to associate with them. I’ve run into these circles in a lot of the pursuits that I have done in life, and I have learned to just leave them alone and let them bask in their greatness. Air quality control is more on my mind than them today as I work on cleaning my whole home air purifier. I’ve been in the volleyball world for over 30 years and I’ve learned that there are some players who you just can’t connect with, and that it is better to just leave them be rather than trying to change them. This one heating supplier, who is a really good pro player, just got beat yesterday by a mixed pair team, which was sweet to watch I must say! I told the girl who beat him how proud I was of her, and I don’t think she even knows the damage she did to his ego. He works as an HVAC tech and I’ve seen him working around town a lot but I never try to talk with him because he is in his own head too much of the time. I like to hang out with the fun players and not the egocentric ones.

September can be a mixed bag and it usually cools down by the middle of the month, and then we get a few months of not needing any heating or cooling in the home.

I am going to try and write five more articles so tomorrow I have an easier day. Tomorrow is Sunday and I want to go on a date with my friend, and having less work to do in the morning will make it easier on me. I will work online today for a little while longer and then I am home free the rest of the day. I think the temps are going to be warming up soon and that means that I will start using my new little fan that I bought the other day at the local business. I am going to use two fans if that is what it takes for me to stay cool at night when I sleep so I don’t have to run the main a/c system. I think I can make it till the start of July before I have to run in the air in the flat. Usually July and August are the hottest months and warrant the most climate control use for the year. September can be a mixed bag and it usually cools down by the middle of the month, and then we get a few months of not needing any heating or cooling in the home. I think today it is about 70F out, and with the cool wind blowing it feels just about right. My flat is nice and cool with the windows closed, but if it gets too hot I will just open the windows and enjoy some free climate control from good old Mother Nature. See ya later.

Today is the 8th of April and I need to decide if I will go back to the States this summer or not.

It is a big deal going back there because I have no house or car and it is pretty tough trying to make it all work when I am back.

I used to have a home and a car waiting there for me, but after being out of the US for almost eight years I finally had to sell them both. So now when I go back I need to find an air conditioned home to stay in and rent a climate controlled car to get around with. It is not cheap going back and when you add up all of the expenses it almost makes you wonder if going home is possible to do anymore. I normally go back for Christmas to be around mom’s fireplace while she cooks a meal. I really miss my mom and feel like moving back sometimes, but as long as my music career is advancing here in Europe then I will keep staying and chasing my dreams. I work for a local contractor here in town and like working there as an HVAC specialist during the weekdays. On weekends we play music in bars and on the streets and make some pretty good money in the process. I love music and I love my mom and my family, which is kind of a tug of war in my heart all of the time. I’d love to be sitting in front of mom’s gas fireplace with a guitar in my hands and have both right now.

I will write for ten more minutes and then I need to rest my eyes for a bit.

Maybe I’ll make my grilled cheese sandwich while I take a break from the screen.

I will eat that and then do my yoga while listening to a Spanish podcast, kind of like two birds with one stone multitasking. If I don’t understand some of the words on the podcast, when my yoga is done I will go look at the transcript and see what the words mean. I am getting better at the language but still have to push myself. Heating and cooling repair is going to be on the agenda next week as I work on some new commercial system for this local business in town. I think that the job will pay well and it may take us a few weeks to do, but when it is all over we will be happy that we got the job finished. I like being an HVAC tech and really like the HVAC I work for, and I hope that they will keep me on board for a few more years. I think with some luck I could keep working for them until it is time to collect my benefits from the governments after forty years of working. I started working in the cooling systems world back when I was 15, as my dad had his own heating supplier company and would have me come in each day to clean up the floors of the store. Well, after 40 years of working I feel I am due for a break.

I love chocolate, especially dark chocolate, but I don’t like to eat too much sugar, so I found a chocolate that is sweetened with maltitol and it tastes really good. I eat the chocolate with peanuts and it tastes just like a Snickers bar. I eat this with my coffee in the morning and it fills me up for a little while and gives me my chocolate fix for the day without all of the sugar. Some people eat donuts and coffee each morning for breakfast, but that is too much sugar for me in the morning. My local contractor got me to stop eating sugar a few years ago and it really has helped with my joint pain a lot so that I can work on heat pumps without feeling lots of agony. I also do cold water soaks each day for 10 minutes and that really helps to relieve any residual pain that I may be feeling from playing too much sports. Today I will go to this local business later to practice Spanish with a group of people and then I have a date with my lady later on. We are going to eat dinner at this nice restaurant and then watch a good sunset on the pier while playing a little music. That is going to be my Saturday night, followed by a movie next to my fireplace while we hang out with my cats and chill. It is really cold out so we won’t be out much once the sun goes down as the temps really drop then.
