To say that everything has changed is always sort of a stupid way to get the point across that things just aren’t the same way they used to be. Lots of swings happen all the time. And that just doesn’t happen the way it once did. In fact, I have a very difficult time trusting everyone plus situations. But instead of making this the focus of our life, I would much rather be grateful that there are still people like HVAC professionals that I can trust. I’ve been working with the same HVAC supplier for more than 30 years. And in all that time, the HVAC pros have always been looking out for me. I’m upset that this is a rarity in several of our encounters with them, however I’m thankful for the trust where I can find it.

When Max and I were deciding the certains plus certain details about our house, there was a single thing that stood out. I’d make sure the natural gas furnace got the necessary HVAC heating maintenance however that’s about as far as I got. The prime reason for this is that I wasn’t into doing the Winter time prep on the house with all the football games on TV. This is just the fair truth. I care about football season more than I care about saving money on HVAC heating costs. But this year, I committed to being sure the Winter time prep on the house is all done. This is why I’m already halfway through with the Winter time checklist plus it’s not even Labor Day yet. I was able to get the checklist from the HVAC supplier website. Not only did they give me a list plus good instructions, I had a shopping list for the stuff I needed as well. That made everything so much easier. So when I took the kids back to the university stuff, I went to the house improvement store as well. My method is to finish up the Winter time prep work this coming week. The football season is close to kicking off plus I’d like to be finished by then. It sure will be nice to have a genuinely cozy house plus save like crazy on HVAC heating expenses.

I’ve never been the kind for quiet reflection.

Actually, there’s never been too much about me that is all that quiet.

That’s why the swings that I’ve made to our life are still taking several folks by complete shock. It’s as though I went into the pandemic as a single woman plus then came out of it as another woman. Going house to work from the central air conditioning of our house wasn’t the worst or the biggest ordeal; The biggest factor was the reality that the two of us faced while the two of us were in the worst part of the pandemic. My wifey means everything to me plus I can’t imagine our life separate from her. But swiftly, she was very much at risk of becoming actually ill with Covid or worse. Jo has a congenital health condition that put her at the highest of risks when it came to the virus. So our lives completely changed. Jo stayed inside the safety plus security of the air conditioning in our home. There just wasn’t any more thought given to it. Until there was a vaccine, our main job was keeping Jo Covid free. So the two of us both worked remotely inside the central air conditioning of our house. And the two of us took all that time to work on being more present in our personal lives. This was the biggest lesson I got from the pandemic. I had to live in gratitude for what I had, I had to slow down and get perspective plus care about our life. I wasn’t 100% sure how the modern situation was going to work out once I was back inside the zone controlled HVAC.

There were many difficult things that I had to fix while the office was closed.

I spent that entire Summer plus some of the following fall with the air conditioning set on max in the car because I was on the road. Since flying was still out, I had to go to our customers in order to supply them with repairs plus keep them all happy. Most days, I was either on site with some client implementing or negotiating our services. Otherwise, I was on the road with the air conditioning on. And I got it every single time that I stayed at a single of the mid tier hotels along the interstate. So now that the two of us are back to flying again, a single of our modern normals is staying with these sorts of hotels. I’ve explained to our travel department that I don’t want the valuable, downtown hotels. Instead, I’d like to be able to rely on the heating plus cooling equipment. And that means being booked into the middle-tier hotels by the airport or just off the interstate.

That was such a surprise to me.

When I 1st got the word that we’d have to leave the zone controlled HVAC of the office to work from home, I thought that I would be doomed. I get most of everything done before the peak heating minutes of the afternoon. And that’s when I go run errands inside commercial HVAC!

I’m much more interested in playing with any modern toy than I am checking up on how it works or checking the warranty. The same was tplot when it came to get new HVAC components this past year. From there, it felt like Christmas. I couldn’t wait for the modern residential HVAC plus all the modern HVAC tech. So of course, I wasn’t studying the HVAC warranty once it was all installed. Thankfully though, Jen did study the HVAC warranty plus got it registered in time.

I’ve never been very consistent when it came to good lifestyle behaviors.

For sure, I’ve never been the type to be super healthy.

At the same time, I’ve also never veered into being overly self destructive or wild with our lifestyle choices either. But going from sitting inside the zone controlled HVAC system of the office to then sit in the central air conditioning of our house wasn’t ideal. I knew this however just couldn’t ever seem to find any sort of momentum when it came to sticking to swings. I tried a modern diet only to bail in a couple of weeks. Instead of coming house to sit in the recliner, I’d try getting out of the air conditioning for a walk. But again, I just couldn’t manage any sort of consistency at all. Yet, I sure wasn’t getting any younger plus the pandemic really helped me realize that our health was something I had to take care of. So I finally made some different choices plus added a serious commitment as well. I have a sit up riser for our desk so I sit much of every day. And I don’t come house to the air conditioning plus the couch. At first, I was going to the local gym. That wasn’t so terrible until the Summer hit. Then, that locale was just so tepid as the HVAC cooling system seemed overwhelmed. Instead of giving myself a reason to quit, I called the HVAC supplier. The HVAC pro then installed a ductless heat pump in the basement where I now have our very own house gym. And it’s made all the difference as I’m now super motivated to get after it when I get to my house from the office.

Well, maybe not every single year however I’m surely not going a decade separate from ductwork cleaning again.

And it could have been even longer than that. I have lived here for just over 8 years. When the two of us got the locale, there was a pretty satisfying showdown when it came to the heating plus cooling. The owner just wasn’t interested in replacing the aged HVAC units. We were coming to a region where HVAC cooling is a priority plus wanted a turn key situation when it came to good HVAC components plus HVAC technology. It got to the point that the two of us had to walk away from the deal. There was just no way that the two of us were bending when it came to functional residential HVAC. I tried to find out however couldn’t get our hands on the papers that would have shown the ductwork cleaning. All the two of us had were the receipts paying for the modern heating plus cooling equipment. So while I want to suppose the air ductwork cleaning was done prior to the modern HVAC component being installed, I don’t think that is for sure. What I do think for sure is that this house is so much weird once the two of us got the air ductwork cleaning plus ductwork resealing done. I had it done as part of annual Spring cleaning this year plus I can’t believe the difference it has made in our home.
