Obviously I can’t cut off the bathroom, but I don’t want everyone roaming around inside

I am not the typical bride to be. I don’t want to do a giant wedding, rent a space and have 10 attendants on each side. I honestly want to get married by a justice of the peace and have a party in my own home’s backyard. I have been loosely coming up with how I can do this. My yard is big enough to house tables of food and drinks. I also can set up lights within my bushes to make it look really pretty. The only downer is that no matter the time of year it is, HVAC is going to be needed. In the south, 90% of the time AC is required. The summer temperatures are just downright brutal. Getting married in the summer would be stupid. Nobody would want to stand outside in the hot sun for even ten minutes. The winters can get quite cold though. I can’t expect people to wear thick coats and hang around my backyard when I have quality heating indoors. Here is the snag though, I don’t want people coming inside. I plan to make the backyard nice to keep people out of my house. I don’t want to get married, host a party and need to clean the inside of my house. Obviously I can’t cut off the bathroom, but I don’t want everyone roaming around inside. I am leaning towards doing a winter event and buying outdoor space heaters for everyone. Maybe that could keep everyone out. If the people are warm and comfortable, then they won’t feel the need to track dirt in my house.

One of my favorite things is going to the theater and seeing a musical.

I love dressing up, getting a cookie and seeing a new show.

I live in the city and the theater is just ten minutes away from me. The tickets are reasonably priced and I always have the time to go. This year I decided to buy season tickets. That means that every other month I am going to see the new show. Right now there is a scare going on that has everyone stuck inside their homes. My past two shows have been cancelled. Figures the one time I splurge for season tickets is the time that I miss all the shows. Thankfully there are some shows on TV that I can see. I can watch Fiddler on the Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar, Jersey Boys and a whole mess of shows right from my TV. It is not the same as seeing it live, but it has to be good enough. One thing that is nice is having temperature control when watching. At the theater they really crank the AC for the actors. The lights, movement and audience body heat is probably intense. So the theater compensates by upping the cooling in the venue. The heavy AC always is a problem when I watch a show. Being at home and not cold is a really nice change. I don’t have to dress up either and I can pee whenever I want. So it is not as good as the real thing, but there are some definite perks to being at home with good HVAC.

Due to the scare, the government was nice enough to give us an additional couple of days to file our taxes. Since I had already filed my taxes a month before, this didn’t certainly apply to me, but it was nice of them. I’m sure that someday a person will remember the Tax Day that never was. I will remember it because of the cold. For the last few weeks, all of us have had consistent above warmer temperatures. Hardly any days were under 50 degrees. That was above what we usually consider normal. Mid March temperatures typically bring us a normal high of sixty. Up until tax day, the temperatures had been at or slightly above normal. Our weatherman had been saying that we should have temperatures in the upper 60s while I was in Easter week. You can only imagine my surprise when it arrived and it was so cold that there was frost on the car. I figured the frost would soon melt and the temperatures would go up like predicted. In the meantime, I lit the fireplace to get some heating into the house. It stayed so cold that I had to lit the gas furnace. At noon, the temperature had only risen to a balmy thirty-two degrees and my husband was considering either bringing more wood in for the fireplace, or turning the gas furnace back on. It was really a horribly cold day. It was one for the record books as well.

Easter has always been a day of happiness and celebration in our family.

This year, even with fear hanging over our heads, all of us wanted to keep that joy and celebratory mood in the house.

I was tied up getting supper when I got a cellphone call from my friend Lisa. I knew she was expecting her first baby, and I was hoping she was calling to tell me the baby was on his way. I couldn’t believe my ears when she not only said the baby was coming, but that there would be another as well. My friend Lisa was going to have twins! I was so cheerful that I cried. I was excited that someday I would get to watch them. With social distancing, I would need to wait. My friend also wanted to give birth in her own house rather than the hospital. She was worried about the indoor air quality. Her husband told me that they had to turn on the gas furnace to keep it sizzling in the home for the babies. Since my friend’s husband wasn’t all that handy, it was difficult getting the heater all set for the new arrivals. It would be smarter for him to just call a HVAC technician, but they were worried about introducing gets into their home. My friend said it took them a couple of tries to get the gas furnace running. From what I gathered, she had to call the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C company to get some advice on what to do.

Easter has come and gone without all the joy egg hunting.

I still managed to hide some eggs in the backyard.

There was no hunting at the church or in the park. With social distancing, there was not a lot to be done for Easter. A fake bunny was hopping down the middle of the road, with the firetruck fifty feet behind him. My kids were upset to see that the Easter Bunny was all alone on the street. They wanted to talk to him and I had to keep them inside. It was really sad. I told them that the bunny would still come to the house. I had to find places to hide their Easter baskets this year that were inside the house. I didn’t want them to know I had filled them either. I hid one behind the air conditioning device, one beside the gas furnace and the other was behind the washer. My kids went on their merry way doing the Easter egg hunt that day. My little one was so worried when he was the only one to not find his Easter basket. The baskets were gone from the gas furnace section and the washing machine area. I didn’t want to tell him where to search, because he would think I had hid the basket. I asked him if he wanted my help. We headed into the downstairs to look where the other two baskets had been found. He was beaming with pride when he saw his Easter bin behind the AC device.

Last year I got a modern portable air cleaner. From the day I got it and drove it home, it has never done one thing. I tried taking the whole-home air purifier back to the shop, but because of the coronavirus, the store was no longer open. I have always believed in buying local and purchasing from small companies. This time, it ruined me. I was stuck with an whole-home air purifier that didn’t operate one bit. I certainly wanted air purification, especially now that there is a problem with the air quality. I was hoping to have a way to keep the debris and virus out of my breathing air. I was out of luck with this. He told me that as long as both of us kept with social distancing, he would not have an issue with that. The Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C specialist showed up with a suit on and he was genuinely careful not to get too near me. He quickly installed the UV whole-home air purifier, and he showed me how it operated. He told me that if I had any questions; he would be okay to answer them for me. I certainly didn’t notice a lot of difference in my air quality, but I did note that the air smelled fresher.

I was heading to my laundry room the other day when I got freaked out.

I hated going into the basement if I could not turn the overhead lights on. Once I get down the stairs, the light coming in through the windows lights the section up. So then I feel totally fine after that. It is while I am on the stairs that I don’t like to be in the laundry room. I hear the sounds coming from the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C device and I imagine there is someone waiting in the basement for me to arrive. I suppose I may watch too many horror flicks, or I would not give this a thought. I listened for the sound of the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C device so I could gather the courage to do a load of wash. I listened for the air blowing out of the vents. I was fine for a couple of minutes. I started down the steps and then I heard a loud banging noise. I headed back up the steps before something or someone could pop out. My intellectual side told me that it was just the gas heater, but my childish side said it was someone ready to grab me. Then the intelligent side won over. If it was a sound coming from the gas furnace, I knew I needed to get that heater repair taken care of. Something in the gas furnace was probably broken. This didn’t help me have courage to do the wash. So I had to call the HVAC technician right away to fix the heater so I could then do laundry in peace.

I want to call my HVAC business for a fake AC repair.

To be clear, nothing is wrong with my cooling unit.

I just want to have someone visit me. I have certainly been getting stir crazy lately. I should not even consider it. I had never given my air conditioning much thought before. Now though, I have been sitting in my beach house for almost two months. I had already cleaned my home tons of times and sanitized all of my counters and surfaces. I was anxious that if I didn’t wash everything, I would end up with Covid-19. The problem with that thought is that I never saw anyone when the virus came to the states. I work from home and I never have any friends over. My family is quite a ways away. It seems that all I have to look forward to is service appointments. I had the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C specialist show up to do the servicing on my air conditioning unit last week. That is why I was thinking about my air conditioning unit again. I was wondering if I can call the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C business again for maybe a possible AC repair. I know that I just want them in my house because with this, I could at least see another human being. Living where I live, I seldom even see my neighbors. I am at the end of a cul-de-sac and I am pretty much all alone.

I kept telling my roommate that I could hear something that sounded like a kid crying.

The only time I heard it was in the kitchen.

My roommate told me it was probably just a deer outside, even though I didn’t believe him. I knew the sound was coming from inside the home. The other day, my roommate heard the sound while I was still in bed. The boiler is right beneath the kitchen and he went in search of the sound. He found a kitten that couldn’t have been a month old behind the boiler system. She was cold and clearly hungry. He quickly wrapped her up in a small blanket and brought her to me. I tried to feed her warm milk to get her warmed up, however she wasn’t having it. I asked my roommate how she got behind the gas furnace and he had no idea. I kept trying to get warm milk into her tummy while cuddling her to me to keep her warm. My roommate went downstairs to see if there were any tiny holes that she could have gotten through. He found one way in and was worried about other animals getting inside and hanging out by the boiler system. The cat’s eyes were barely open, so she genuinely couldn’t have travelled that far. I sat her down by the air vent and kept her wrapped in the blanket, to keep her warm. I was determined to get her sizzling and keep her safe with me. I have a cat now.

Everyone seems to be linking up with their friends right now.

They are having virtual parties and talking on the phone.

I have seen where some people get-together for a virtual glass of wine to celebrate the end of the week. I know I must have put too much time into my work and getting my house fixed up. I haven’t had a single person, other than my father, call to see if I was doing alright. It certainly killed me to find out I didn’t have any buddies. The only thing I have to keep me busy is my cat and my gas furnace. It has been quite cold outside ever since this COVID scare has begun. Without my gas furnace, I would have frozen to death in my house. The cat keeps me sizzling at night, despite the fact that he is tied up sleeping all day long. He is used to me at the house and his schedule hasn’t adjusted. I believe being socially distanced right now could be a lot more horrible. I recently had a modern UV air filter system installed in my Heater, Ventilation as well as A/C system. I think that the UV air filter system will help to keep the bacteria and virus scare out of my breathing air. There would be nothing worse than being stuck in the house knowing that I could end up with the sickness and no one would know. I have considered some things that could happen and none of them are great. I think I will stay in my house with my wine and UV whole-home air purifier.
