Bought myself tool belt

I never thought that I would consider myself to be a handy individual.

  • I really have lived a responsibility-free life when it comes to home and appliance repair, because I’ve always lived in apartments.

Rather than dealing with the ridiculous stress of maintaining and repairing a home and all the infrastructure that it entails, I’ve consistently rented from a landlord who had to deal with those issues. Last year, however, I made the big transition and bought my own house. I’m still adjusting to the new responsibilities, and I’m not very happy about them. These days I feel like I’m continually worried about my home heating and cooling system. The amount of energy that I spend considering the health of my temperature control system is so ridiculous, it’s as if the HVAC system is my own child. When I first moved into the house, I had about 3 months of excellent indoor air quality. The air conditioning system ran beautifully, and I was operating the cooling system every single day. After those 3 months, however, all hell broke loose. My air conditioner broke down entirely, and the HVAC technician recommended that I have the whole system replaced. Next, the ductwork was totally clogged and was straining my heating and cooling plans, so I had them professionally cleaned. Then I found out my furnace hadn’t been professional serviced in over 5 years, and called the heating and cooling dealership back out. At this point I’ve sunk thousands of dollars into my home temperature control system, and I can’t afford to pay professionals for any more problems. I’m getting over my fear of being a handy homeowner, instead. I even bought myself a toolbelt last week.
