Bad Heating & A/C sizing

I tend to overdo things.

If a little seasoning is great, a lot more is better.

If I needed a bigger car, I wanted the biggest a single on the lot. I recently got into some trouble when buying a new Heating & A/C system. I found out that the previous homeowner cheaped out & purchased a smaller heating & cooling machine. It costs less money upfront however overtime is not a smart purchase. The Heating & A/C plan that was too small had to run constantly & never go to turn off. It regularly needed Heating & A/C repairs & care. Finally I decided that I was sick of paying a ton of money for Heating & A/C that didn’t entirely work. I had the Heating & A/C worker come in & provide me an bid on a newer, appropriately sized Heating & A/C device. Apparently what Heating & A/C dealers do is called the rule of thumb. They do a loose measurement of your home & basically guess on the Heating & A/C size. They also make more money the bigger the unit. So while the Heating & A/C professional did request a single size, he was more than okay when I wanted to size up. I figured bigger is better. I would rather have too big of a Heating & A/C component than too small. Well the joke is on me now. Too large of a heating system & air conditioning isn’t much better. My component is constantly cycling on & off & costing me money. It can quickly achieve the thermostat temperature however then shuts down. It is not nice for the inner workings to power up & down. It isn’t going to last long.
