Big changes are helped with new HVAC
I so didn’t see it coming.
And I have made a career of seeing things coming and positioning the company to take advantage of what was coming. So, it would seem that I should be able to have seen my own demise on the horizon. But sometimes, that’s just not the way it works when you get close to the end of the career. More and more people are after the zone controlled HVAC of my corner office. That’s pretty much how it went down. But, I guess all’s fair in love and war. I had seen this happen to mentors of mine when they got to be my age. Still, when I got my walking papers, it was gutting. I was destroyed to be both unemployed and have it happen so unceremoniously. It really was humiliating. I didn’t even get to clean out that office with the zone controlled HVAC on my own. That stung even worse. So it’s kind of cool that I’m now sort of sticking it in the face of those who thought it wise to cut me and my salary loose. I took some of the biggest clients we had with me. And I didn’t even intend for that to happen. That’s why you get walked out of a position like mine. They don’t want you taking company info in order to poach clients. Once, I got my feet back underneath me, I put a ductless heat pump in my study and turned it into a real office. And from there, I became a consultant who ended up with a lot of the clients my old company once had. That’s just sweet, sweet karma really.
