For some time, I’d been feeling quite useless around the house. Ever since I got home from college, I had little direction in my life. All the job applications had fallen through, and I was starting to lose hope. Mom was getting worried, so she tried to take my mind off the issue. She asked me to help her clean out the basement. We had talked about turning this space into a movie room for a long time, and now I had the time to help her. There was lots of old furniture, tools, clothes, and boxes that we had to move. This would take some time because of all the sorting involved. As I removed some boxes, I came across some water on the floor from the AC unit. The water from the AC unit had been dripping for some time since the boxes were soaking wet. I called mom to see the issue with the AC unit then went online to book an HVAC expert. I knew there must be some fault with the air conditioner and was glad we had opted to move the boxes. The following day, the AC export arrived at our door, and we took him down to the basement. It turns out the issue was a clogged drainage pipe which was causing all the excess moisture to pour out of the air conditioner. The AC expert used a solvent to remove the drainage pipe’s algae clogging. He also checked for other faults and found some cracks on the drainage pan. All in all, he left us with a properly working air conditioner, and now I was more determined to get the space done.
