I live a life that has near instant karma.
This is both a wonderful thing plus a exhausting thing. It’s wonderful that I don’t have a bunch of accountability hanging over my head for dumb or exhausting choices. But man, I make a mistake or something plus I get the swift reaction. Like this past fall, I kept meaning to call for the Heating and A/C service. Normally, I love to have the Heating and A/C serviceman come out plus do the heating service in September. Turned out that this fall was particularally intense plus I let the Heating and A/C service slip through the cracks. And when I did finally remember again after Thanksgiving, I rationalized that we could take a year without Heating and A/C service on the gas furnace. Well, hello karma once again. I was sound asleep while in one of the coldest days of the year. It was just after midnight when I was awakened by a disappointing thud in the basement. I knew, truly instinctively, that it was the gas furnace. By the time I got to the basement, I found the furnace shut down plus hissing almost because it was so hot. Like I said, it was bitter, bitter cold plus no space gas furnace was going to keep the beach house warm. I had no choice however to call for emergency Heating and A/C service. The Heating and A/C repairman on call was truly wonderful actually. She had a super attitude for someone who had been called out on such a wickedly cold night. Turns out, the complication with the furnace would have been caught with normal Heating and A/C service. But it ended up costing me hundreds of dollars that night. This is what I mean by instant karma.
