My dog is in charge of the thermostat

Occasionally I wonder who is really in charge of my household, and don’t get me wrong, I am the oldest, most responsible, and most financially involved human being in this home.

However, it sure seems like everybody else calls the shots around here.

I do not mean to be dramatic, however even the dog has more say in our household conditions than I do. I assume you might think that I am exaggerating, however wait until you hear about the way that he reacts to our indoor air temperature control devices since the day we brought him home, and the trouble all started when we adopted a puppy in the middle of the summer, and of course, it was brutally hot and humid outside so all of us had to spend a good deal of time indoors with the air conditioner blasting. I certainly did not want to overheat our little puppy by laying in the sun and causing him to become dehydrated. Instead, we created a play area downstairs and made sure that all of the air vents were wide open so that our high-quality air conditioner could produce enough cool air to the area for him! Unfortunately, our puppy suddenly grew into a dog and our dog suddenly became accustomed to the non-stop air conditioning. It has been three years since all of us adopted our buddy, and at this point he is in charge of the heating, cooling, and air quality control system, and every time I attempt to increase the indoor air temperature there is a barking disaster. At this point, I can’t even look at the temperature control without him switching into guard dog mode.
