It was about time to upgrade the ductwork in our bank building
The downtown bank has been open since 1922, and for approximately 50 years, the bank functioned as the only Savings & Loan office within a 73 mile zone! My family was honestly one of the original bank holders & I am a member of the board today.
My father happened to be a member during the 1980’s, and that was the last time the bank chose to make updates & renovations… It was during this time period that the bank added central heat & a/c equipment to the entire building.
That was the last time that the ventilation ductwork was changed, updated, or even assessed for needed repairs. A month back, all of us decided to close the main branch for critical repairs. One of those repairs was replacing all of the heating & a/c equipment inside of the building. We came to learn that the ductwork needed to be updated throughout the entire building. It was one of the major renovation projects & a rather expensive hit to our budget. Nobody really anticipated spending $55,000 to update the ventilation equipment & ductwork. It was a truly costly bill, however a very necessary expense. All of the renovations are now finished & the bank is arranged to open on the first day of this upcoming week. We are having a grand opening celebration to kick off the brand new building. We decided to reach out to some food truck vendors & all of us will have all types of cuisines represented on that actual day. We even have live music that will be happening. We are going to have events for the youngsters & a few contests with prizes. It’s going to be a truly excellent way for the bank to celebrate being in the town for 100 years.
