We can't have a window A/C unit in this neighborhood
My wife and I love to paint and we have always dedicated a room in our home to our craft.
My wife prefers oil, pastels, and watercolors, but I prefer to sculpt in clay and wood.
When my wife and I moved out of our old house, we were excited to turn the new garage into a painting Studio. We had great sunlight from the North and the west, and a wonderful Breeze with the door open. Unfortunately, it was very warm and humid during the summer. We had to buy an air conditioner to help with the climate control. We purchased a small window AC unit to place in one of the garage windows. It worked extremely well until one of our neighbors complained about the AC. We received a note on our door from the homeowners association. Apparently we were not allowed to have an AC unit that can be seen from the street. My wife and I had to get rid of the window AC unit and find something else to help. We couldn’t take the window unit back to the store, so we were out $200. Luckily, we found someone on Craigslist that was willing to pay $150 for the three-day used machine. We used the money to buy a portable air conditioner that sits inside of the garage. No one will be able to complain about that machine, and hopefully our neighbors will learn to mind their own business. I can’t believe someone complained in the first place, but maybe it’s the large, blue democrat sign in the front yard.
