My sister ended up marrying her HVAC technician

My sister has always dated all kinds of people, and last year she started dating her HVAC technician Rob.

• She met Rob when he came to her house last year to work on her air conditioning system.

It was right in the middle of a heatwave last summer, and the temperatures outside were in the 80s and 90s for weeks at a time. Where we live, that is definitely a heat wave. We are used to temperatures in the 70s most of the time and so everyone around here was using their central air conditioning more than they ever had before. This included my sister, who apparently turned her A/C on for so long at such a low setting that she ended up freezing up the whole system somehow. She called me and complained that her A/C wasn’t working and she thought that she was going to melt inside her house. I gave her the number of my favorite local HVAC company and that’s who she called to come and fix the A/C. She tells the story now that when the HVAC technician pulled up into her driveway, she had no idea that he was going to be the man of her dreams. Even at their wedding, they gave a toast to me for recommending Rob’s heating and cooling company. I guess without a broken air conditioning system that summer, they might have never met. Thank goodness for heat waves and central air conditioning systems, I guess. Rob thinks I’m the best sister in law in the whole world now.
