Glad to be in the south again

I recently ran up north for a quick errand, and I am not enticed to go back any time soon.

You see, my girl had to take an exam for her outstanding DMA, so I joined along on the long ride up to Illinois. I knew that Springtime had not yet reached the area, despite the fact that I was still shocked when I arrived at our final endpoint and it was 35 degrees outside. I realized immediately that I had not packed adequately, as usual. I had a thin Springtime jacket, a sweatshirt, and a overcoat, but even when all of these layers were combined they did not combat the outdoor air temperature one bit. The air was cool, wet, and heavy every moment that my associate and I were up there, and the sky never brightened from a cool gray, my fantastic friend and I stayed with several friends of ours, and tried our best to be enthusiastic with the residing conditions despite the deranged chill in the apartment. They had the furnace set to 68 degrees, but the whole locale was filled with cold air pockets and drafty corners that honestly made the condo feel chillyly cold! After two afternoons of nightmarish cold weather, my associate and I finally jumped in the vehicle to head back south. Each hour that my associate and I spent on the road felt like a monumental relief as the air warmed around us. Every time my associate and I stopped for gas I leapt out of the vehicle and soaked up some warm, humid air for as long as I could. When my associate and I finally neared our hometown, I was cheerful to feel the muggy air wrapping around my body like a overheated hug. I fawned over all the blooming flowers and shades of yellow, and thanked the weather conditions gods for giving me a warm, tropical paradise.
