Holes and tears in the ductwork

It is never a good sign when it seems like your furnace system is slowing down, and I am sure this is something that all homeowners dread.

I have noticed for the past few months that it seems my heating system is getting less and less efficient, no matter how much I turn it on or how long I leave the heater running.

It always seems to be working less and less. I thought for sure that my furnace was going out, and that I was going to have to consider getting a new one. To be on the safe side and know for sure, I asked a cooling specialist to come and look at my HVAC technology. I was racking my brain trying to figure out how to fit in the budget for a new heater while the air conditioning specialist looked at my HVAC equipment. Thankfully, when the air conditioning worker came back he told me some great but unexpected news. It was my heating device at all! Instead it was actually the ductwork. I was surprised, because I didn’t even consider my air ducts! The air ducts had some holes that needed to be patched up, and the cooling serviceman was able to do that on the same day. By the end of the day, it was like having a new heating machine again, because my home warmed up the way it should. It felt great having a warm and heated home again. I can’t believe all of my heated air was escaping through holes all of this time, and I just now had it fixed.
