Problems with A/C caused by gross ductwork

Last summer, I was very unhappy with the performance of my a/c, however the cooling system is relatively new… I had it installed just three years ago & spent extra on a high-efficiency model.

I’ve been diligent about changing air filters & having the cooling unit professionally took care of every Springtime! Despite all that, my utility bills were quickly much higher than ever before. The a/c was running constantly yet struggling to handle expectations. The home felt slightly warm & muggy & particular rooms were much worse than others. The temperature from one room to another varied significantly. I also noticed the cooling operation making some bizarre sounds, creating unpleasant odors & spreading dust into the breathing air, then when I realized that I was suffering from more frequent headaches, I blamed the a/c & busy repair. The Heating as well as Air Conditioning contractor evaluated the system & found no troubles. When she inspected the ductwork, she discovered diminished capacity. The airflow was restricted by a buildup of contaminants! A thorough duct cleaning solved all of the troubles with the a/c. The process only took a couple of hours & caused no mess or disruption. The results were immediate. Along with superior comfort & lower sound levels, the system did a far better task at dehumidifying. My home was quickly much cleaner & more enjoyable, but because the A/C doesn’t need to labor as strenuous or run as often, it should be more reliable & last longer. I now understand the importance of the ductwork & plan to have the system evaluated every couple of years.
