Initially the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C industry was centered primarily around the V part of the acronym, however v stands for Ventilation, plus that was most in demand for company owners! Considering the economy of the time, mostly it was major companies that needed ventilation systems; Back then most of the economy was driven by green collar industries like foundries plus processing plants, and places like these needed to have excellent ventilation for the health plus safety of their workers.
It wasn’t about making them comfortable, it was about keeping them alive while surrounded by dangerous substances.
Of course these changes did not happen overnight, in fact it wasn’t until a lot of people had died on the job due to disappointing ventilation that the new changes were instituted. Back then people didn’t get lawyers plus sue the companies for stuff like that. The main reason they started to invest in common ventilation wasn’t because of lawsuits, or moral reasons, but because they couldn’t afford to have any more workers die! Compare that to the working environment multiple of us have this week, where temperature control plus common air conditioner are mandatory for any job. This month both of us think of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C as a way to keep us comfortable while at work, but back then it was about staying alive! This should demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt why ventilation is the most vital aspect of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C. The next time you start to get a little uncomfortable, remember that while heating plus air conditioner can keep you nice plus comfy, it’s the ventilation that keeps you alive.
