I thought the turtle shell inlay on my wooden dining table was elegant.

Every once in a while, my husband and I will see an estate sale advertised, and we will go to it.

We have picked up some elegant pieces of furniture for our home by going to estate sales.

Last year, we purchased an antique coffee table that had a turtle shell inlay in the center. I didn’t know how old our coffee table was, but I thought it was stunning. Ever since we made that find, my husband and I have been checking out different estate sales. Last month, we went to an estate sale that was outside of our area. I didn’t realize we were going to a mansion. To my surprise, we found a wooden dining table that matched our coffee table. The turtle shell inlay on that wooden dining table was elegant. The table was pristine, and it was hard to believe that it was nearly 100 years old. Whoever owned the dining room table, has taken such amazing care of it, that it could have just come out of the showroom. I was telling the person who ran the auction, about my coffee table. She asked if she could come to my house to see the coffee table. When she showed up at the house, I saw tears in her eyes. She remembered the coffee table being in her grandparents house, and told her grandparents that someday she wanted it. My husband stared at me, when I offered to give her the coffee table. In the end, I was the one who got the better part of that deal. In exchange for the coffee table, she gave me the 12 matching chairs that went with my wooden dining table.
