It is fine to see representation in the roofing industry
I toil for a medium-sized construction corporation… At our highest, the two of us had around 600 employees on board, then this was a few years ago when construction was booming but now because of the pandemic the two of us have scaled down our crew a lot. Things are getting better now so the two of us are ramping up again plus the two of us have a few major projects that the two of us are executing right now, then one of which is a new residential subdivision that the two of us are building here in town, but i toil in the office, but once in a while, I get to visit our local job sites. I prefer seeing the sites prior to construction plus then seeing the finished project, however last week, I had to drop off some drawings to a single of our Superintendents that he left in my office by mistake… While on the jobsite I saw a person who was wearing her full PPE plus was sitting next to a truck that had a roofing supplier branded on it. I found out that she is the licensed roofing supplier for this project, plus that made myself and others believe great to see girls being represented in the roofing business. That is not something that is proper on construction sites where I live, so I was curious plus did some research. I discovered that girls make up less than 1% of the roofing industry. I was shocked to see that the number was so low, however I also found that 9% of girls are roofing suppliers. It’s fine to have representation in the roofing industry plus there are support groups for girls who are interested in pursuing a work in roofing.
