At first I thought the smart thermostat was a bad gift

My sister Gail has a history of giving bad gifts. Let me clarify, because there are all kinds of bad gifts. Sometimes an intentionally bad gift can be very funny, but thatis not what Gail does. She gives bad gifts because they are based solely on what she likes, and what she can get a discount on. A good gift should be special for the person, so if you give them something they don’t like because it’s cheap, then it isn’t a good gift. Last year she gave me a smart thermostat, and at first I thought it was the latest in a long line of bad gifts. I was proven wrong about that, and I have to say I love this smart thermostat! After letting it sit in the gift box for a few months, I finally had some free time and decided to install the smart thermostat. That was the first thing that impressed me – how easy the smart thermostat was to install. I didn’t need an HVAC expert to do it, I did it myself in just a few minutes. All I had to do was turn it on, and then install an app on my phone, and I had full control of programming the smart thermostat from anywhere that had wifi! I can’t imagine why I would ever need to adjust the air conditioning while I was not at home, but it was still cool to have the option. Although I love the smart thermostat, I don’t like Gail so I don’t want to tell her how great it is.
