Working as the supervisor of an office supply store is pretty boring work.
I sincerely don’t mind having a boring job like this, because it pays the bills and I have fantastic insurance for my wife and my kids.
I get to work indoors where I have a steady stream of cool a/c! During the warm season months, I am much cooler than many people that must work outdoors. Ever since the boom of Amazon and other online retailers, our store has been sort of like a ghost town… The bunch of us don’t see the same amount of shoppers and our sales have taken a pretty substantial hit. Until recently, the group of us had to consider cutting our staff by approximately 50%! Our recent booming business is pretty much due to the Coronavirus. The group of us are selling air filtration machines just like pens, pencils, and paper. The group of us had a large warehouse shelf with small air purifier machines and other air filtration supplies! Some of the items have been on the shelf for a pretty long time, and now that shelf is empty. The group of us have sold all of the air purifier machines and air filtration supplies in stock and the group of us still have shoppers waiting for items on backorder. The air purifier machine and air filtration sales have also boosted other sales in the store. Our computer and electronics sales have seen a massive increase and a lot of shoppers are coming to the store to have aged laptops restored, fixed, or cleaned of viruses! Working from home has also boosted our sales by a good amount. It’s quite unfortunate that some companies have seen a steady decline during this hardship, but this small office supply supplier is terribly lucky.
