Should I become an HVAC technician?
I just graduated high school this year and I am looking through my future options and plans.
Here’s the deal: I’m really not interested in going to a four-year college.
I know that this is what most people do and, since I made good grades in high school, that’s what I’m “expected” to do, but I am not into it. I just don’t care to be in school anymore, being in the classroom is a struggle for me and just because I can do something doesn’t mean that I should do it, right? Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know. I’ve been doing some research online and it seems to me like becoming an HVAC technician is the way to go. The pay’s good, you don’t have to worry too much about a corporate environment and you basically set your own schedule. Do you think this is a good idea? If there are any HVAC technicians on this page, I would be interested to know what you think some of the top pros and cons of being an HVAC technician would be. What do you like most about being an HVAC technician? What do you like the least about being an HVAC technician? What would you go back in time to tell yourself before becoming an HVAC technician? What is the best piece of advice you have about a career as an HVAC technician? I would really appreciate your feedback. I want to make a plan for my future, and I feel like I’m behind the curve. I don’t even know where to start. Please help me out.
