Construction projects can be a real pain, especially when you are remodeling your house. My wife and I decided to turn the garage into a mother in-law suite. It took a lot of work to get the garage ready. My wife and I spent three weeks cleaning the garage and getting rid of junk. We placed a lot of boxes in the attic and we got rid of anything that wasn’t important. My wife and I were going to attempt the construction project on our own, but we decided to hire a contractor at the last minute. We found a reputable contractor that was reasonably priced. We talked with the contractor for several hours about the project, so we were both on the same page. One thing that we talked about was climate control. Since the garage doesn’t have any windows, the contractor suggested that a mini-split HVAC unit would be best. I thought we would have to buy a portable air conditioner, but I liked the idea of a mini-split HVAC unit. The contractor gave my wife and I several different options, and he gave us a pamphlet on mini-split HVAC units. My wife and I spent a week looking at the different equipment. All of the mini-split HVAC units looked much nicer than anything that my wife and I had in mind. We chose a nice 12000 BTU Honeywell mini-split HVAC unit. We ordered the item online and the contractor installed all of the pieces and parts. The mother-in-law suite looks amazing and it’s almost like a small apartment in there.
