For his birthday this year, I bought my husband an usual birthday present.
Usually I just take him to dinner and buy him some special craft beers or something like that.
But this year, he’s been having lots of different respiratory issues here and there. I know that his doctor has mentioned the importance of having good indoor air quality in our home, and so I talked to our local heating and cooling company about it. One of the things that our HVAC technician told me was that we might want to look into purchasing an air purification system for our house. That prompted me to start looking up different air purification systems that would work alongside our existing heating and cooling system. The one I ended up purchasing for my husband is a UV air purification system with a HEPA filter. This UV air purifier kills bacteria and viruses that might otherwise make their way into the ventilation system in our house. The UV light damages the RNA and the DNA in the bacteria and viruses. UV light keeps bacteria and viruses from replicating correctly, effectively killing them. Any other pollutants get trapped in the HEPA filter, so the air quality is greatly improved. I think that having this new UV air purifier is going to really help my husband with his breathing issues. Of course, having any kind of an air purifier is better than nothing, but a UV air purification system is the best of all.
