Roofer helping me repair my skylight
I have a skylight in my living room that in theory should be amazing and instead it is a pain in the butt; I cherish the natural light and the appearance of it, however, the skylight has leaked since I moved in.
Inside the household the paint keeps chipping away and the wood is warped, but outside the roof is a disaster. I tried to get my spouse to repair the skylight although he isn’t fantastic about heights. He kept going up for a few moments, slapping some liquid cement on the roof and calling it good. It just kept leaking… So I finally decided to absolutely hire a roof repairman near me. I found a roofing supplier that was reasonably priced, the guy showed up on time and offered a tolerable quote. I learned that my skylight wasn’t even an actual one, and apparently somebody put a skylight that was meant to look like a campervan in my house. It is a fraction of the cost of a real skylight however isn’t right for a home. He also told me the installation was a mess to begin with, now factor in all my spouse’s patch tasks. The guy quoted a current skylight and installation for 4 grand. I am a bit wowed on the cost however it makes sense with product and installation. I know I am going to do it, my spouse just wants to detach the skylight and call it a day. I cherish it in the house. I should not have to get rid of it just because of the price. I can afford the skylight and I want it.
