Switching from window air conditioning to ductless mini split air conditioning
My brother and I live in a small house just outside of town.
We have lived there for about 4 years.
There’s plenty of room for the two of us and we ended up buying the home for quite the deal! We have no form of central heating and air conditioning, but we really haven’t felt the need for it. What we had for a long time were window air conditioner units. Even though the winters are mild around here, occasionally we would need to use space heaters when it was cold outside. That’s how we had been getting by up until recently. Then, two of our window air conditioning units gave out in the same week! They had already been installed a few years before we moved in, and they had been showing signs of aging. We weren’t entirely sure that we wanted to simply replace them with new window air conditioning units. I had been hearing about a different kind of air conditioner that may very well be more powerful and more efficient. Our bedrooms are adjacent to each other. What we ultimately opted to do was install a mini ductless air conditioner system right in between our two bedrooms. We decided to cut a rectangular hole in the wall so that the ductless system would be able to cool both rooms at once! Our bedrooms aren’t particularly big so this setup worked perfectly and saved us from buying two units! It was a rather genius way to cool our rooms, if I do say so myself!
