Increasing costs to cool our home

It feels like the prices of everything are becoming higher as well as higher.

And to be honest, it’s taxing to keep up.

For instance, my partner as well as I would do so much shopping with $1,000 a few years ago. Most of the items we bought were enough to last the entire month. But, now we find ourselves returning to the shops often to add more items. The same applies to fresh foods, as well as even things like fuel. Everyone keeps saying we are on the verge of a recession. All the signs are there. We hope that things get better, but we aren’t holding our breath. The best thing to do has been to chop our spending budget. Now, my buddy and I are even forgoing eating out as well as ordering meals. Instead, we meal-prep at home, and strive to stick to a budget each week. The other day, we were doing our monthly budget, and noted we are spending so much to cool our home. Every summer, the bill got higher and higher. It was twice as high one time, when we had a drastic heat wave. That prompted us to find ways to keep our house cool separate from needing to run the air conditioning the entire time. A friend sent us an article from an HVAC blog with tips on how to lower your cooling costs. We found most of the suggestions to be practical, as well as chose to implement some. First, we’d have the air running less when we were at work. In addition, we got heavier drapes to keep the sun out, as well as the house cool. We also had an HVAC technician come do a tune up to ensure the component was working efficiently. So far, so good.
