You should have listened to me about the heater.

I knew there was something wrong with the heater, but I didn’t know how to describe what was happening.

My hubby worked twelve hours a day.

When he got home, he wanted his breakfast & a few hours to relax before going to bed. He didn’t want to be bothered with nit picky confrontations, or with things that could wait until the weekend. When I mentioned the heater, I should have known he didn’t want to hear it. I was sure I was hearing things in the air duct, & it only happened when the heater turned on, and since it was Spring, the heater didn’t turn on often, so you didn’t always hear the noise. He looked at me & asked if this couldn’t wait, not even realizing my friend and I were talking about the HVAC system. That weekend, my friend and I were resting at the table in the kitchen eating supper. He saw a mouse head pop up out of the air vent, & then disappear. When he asked if I saw the mouse, I told him it could wait until supper was over, & then my friend and I could discuss. He started to talk about the mouse in the air vent, & I asked if it coldn’t wait until supper was over. I was hoping he knew I was paraphrasing his wanted to wait until the weekend. As soon as supper was over, he brought up the mouse. I told him he should have listened when I told him about the heater. I had been hearing noises when the heater turned on, & yepterday I realized there were mice in the air duct.
