You should have listened to me about the heater.
I knew there was something wrong with the heater, but I didn’t know how to describe what was happening.
My partner worked twelve hours a day.
When he got home, he wanted his dinner & a few hours to relax before going to bed. He didn’t want to be bothered with nit picky fights, or with things that could wait until the weekend. When I mentioned the heater, I should have known he didn’t want to hear it. I was sure I was hearing things in the HVAC duct, & it only happened when the boiler turned on; Since it was Spring, the boiler didn’t turn on often, so you didn’t always hear the noise. He looked at me & asked if this couldn’t wait, not even realizing we were talking about the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system. That weekend, we were laying at the table in the living room eating dinner. He saw a mouse head pop up out of the air vent, & then disappear. When he asked if I saw the mouse, I told him it could wait until dinner was over, & then we could discuss. He started to talk about the mouse in the air vent, & I asked if it coldn’t wait until dinner was over. I was hoping he knew I was paraphrasing his wanted to wait until the weekend. As soon as dinner was over, he brought up the mouse. I told him he should have listened when I told him about the heater. I had been hearing noises when the boiler turned on, & last month I realized there were mice in the HVAC duct.
