Replacing aged furnace with a heat pump
My parents’ dwelling is aged plus has always had a furnace for heating! My brother, our firstborn, decided it would be more cost plus energy efficient to have them shift to new heating technology… As an engineer, he has more exposed to the heating industry, so my friend and I always follow his recommendations without questioning much.
He’s the one who introduced us to the digital temperature control when they first became the hottest heating unit addition to have in the house, plus he has been telling us to shift to the smart models.
He’s not an Heating & A/C tech, however he does know a bit that is reliable plus makes it straight-forward to understand what the heating company means with some of the terms they use to explain heating repair, then before its ultimate end, the previous unit had taken us through a taxing patch of ductwork repair plus duct sealing before my friend and I realized that my friend and I were spending more on heating repair than my friend and I would with buying new equipment. My pal and I were listed to install a heat pump, plus a simple property services inspection found that the dwelling was perfect for a ground source, but my brother wanted an electric heater installed! For once, my friend and I were in a dilemma my brother didn’t have a solution for. My parents were distraught about the cost of electricity if my friend and I made the decision to go electric, but my brother thought it would not be a problem, however i was so confused that I had to seek out the Heating & A/C serviceman, who’d become usual while in the repair season… The serviceman was kind enough to split it down for me, which is how I understood both possibilities would still use electricity. I stuck with the ground source chance because it would cover our property undoubtedly compared to the heater option.
