Letting go of thermostat control

There are times when I have a real issue with control.

And when you really stop to think about it, there are only so many things one can control.

You certainly can’t control what people say, do or think. When it comes to the events and experiences in life, you can’t necessarily control outcomes and results. Sometimes, it’s just best to let go and relax in the air conditioning of your home. I’m trying to do just that. Work and family responsibilities can keep me pretty focused much of the time. So, it’s important to stop, relax, unwind and just soak up the quality heating and air when I can. Just being quiet for a few minutes and letting stuff go has made a big difference in how I enjoy my life. That said, I still want to try and control too much sometimes. That quality heating and air is a great example. I tend to want to be a hawk with the thermostat setting. This behavior is rooted in saving money on heating and cooling costs. And I’m always for saving money wherever I can. But I’m not letting go of control over the thermostat. That’s because we had a smart thermostat installed now too long ago. This thing only needs a very small set of parameters to do what it does. From there, the smart thermostat takes care of the rest. And dang if that HVAC technology didn’t save me an additional 15 percent on top of what I was saving before. Having the HVAC company install the smart thermostat is yet another experiment in ceding control and I’m all for that.
