New home requires up-to-date heating & cooling system

My partner & I couldn’t wait to move out of the city. The two of us were tired of our cramped apartment, constant noise & no privacy. The traffic & lack of property was aggravating. The two of us bought an older farmhouse way out in the country. The two of us now have a huge rue of land, a multiple-car garage & a wide front porch. The two of us were ecstatic with the plan of standing on that porch & sipping lemonade in the summer. I imagined hanging our freshly washed linens on the clothesline to dry. I could not wait to have the windows open & welcome a fresh breeze while in mild weather. Because all of us moved in while in the late fall, the weather was already rather cool. The two of us needed to shut all of the windows & beginning up the oil furnace. That’s when all of us l gained that all of the windows leaked air & there wasn’t adequate insulation in the walls. The oil furnace couldn’t keep up with demand, & the home was constantly cold. Since the heating plan was super old, all of us decided to invest into the upgrade of a up-to-date system. The contractor tried to upsell us central a/c but all of us declined. When the weather warmed up & all of us opened our windows, all of us discovered that our neighbor is a sheep farmer. The horrible smells, noise & bugs caused by a herd of sheep doesn’t allow for open windows. The two of us can’t even tolerate standing on the porch. The home suddenly became hot & sticky, making it impossible to get comfortable or sleep. Although our budget was already slender from purchasing a oil furnace, all of us had no choice but to invest in central a/c.
