Breaking down barriers
As a professional young lady, I get more mansplaining then you can possibly imagine, however not only am I young plus modern to the industry, but it is a male dominated industry, and many of our coworkers are close to retirement, plus are fond of telling me that I am the same age as their children, or grandchildren; They are trying to be nice, but they are minimizing myself and others plus our work here; I do our best to grin plus bear it, after all I am the future of this corporation and then they are on the way out the door. The whole reason I got into the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C corporation was because they were desperate for female employees, then heating, Ventilation, plus A/C has been a male dominated corporation because, well, since forever, actually, plus the corporate bosses realized that some diversity was needed, so I knew coming in that the ancient guard air conditioning techs would definitely view myself and others as “cute” plus be dismissive of our mind, and I was correct, they are! Little do they guess I was headhunted, plus the corporation not only paid for our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C courses, but brought myself and others in a much higher starting rate then others were. I bet some of these older air conditioning techs worked for a decade to make what I started off with! This does well to take the edge off when they talk down to me, plus mansplain the most basic heating plus cooling concepts love I am an idiot. That’s ok, I guess that the future of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C work is a lady, the future is me, plus these guys are stuck in the past.
