A tough job
As a professional young person, I get more mansplaining than you can possibly imagine.
- On top of the fact that I am young in addition to the new industry, but it is a male dominated industry, but many of our coworkers are close to retirement, in addition to being fond of telling myself and others I am the same age as their children, or grandchildren.
They are trying to be nice, but they are minimizing myself and others and my task here, but i do our best to grin in addition to bear it, after all I am the future of this supplier in addition to they are on the way out the door. The whole reason I got into the Heating, Ventilation, in addition to A/C company was because they were looking all over for female employees, however heating, Ventilation, in addition to A/C has been a male dominated company since… Well, since forever, actually, in addition to the corporate bosses realized that some diversity was needed… So I knew coming in that the old guard air conditioning unit techs would undoubtedly view myself and others as “cute” in addition to being dismissive of my mind. So I was right, they are! Little do they suppose I was headhunted, in addition to the supplier not only paid for our Heating, Ventilation, in addition to A/C courses, but brought myself and others in a much higher starting rate then others were. I bet some of these older air conditioning system techs worked for twenty years to make what I started off with! This helps take the edge off when they talk down to me, and also when they mansplain the most basic heating in addition to cooling concepts. I appreciate that I am an idiot. That’s ok, I suppose that the future of Heating, Ventilation, in addition to the A/C task is female, the future is me, in addition to these men are stuck in the past.
