I wish I would have known to keep the dwelling tight

Leave it to a northern rookie to make such a straightforward mistake when it comes to dealing with a true frosty season. I’m basically new to this area and I’m going into my second winter. But this one will be far more warm inside my dwelling and far less high-priced when it comes to Heating, Ventilation & A/C appliance heating bills. I’m sort of writing off last year as just an irregularity. First of all, I had no idea in the slightest what a real frosty season would entail. I grew up in the South and had never lived in a place where the frosty season was entirely legit. Sure, I have been skiing out west and things like that. But that was not easily representative of just what a northern frosty season is like. And I thought if I could care about a ski trip, I could certainly deal with the frosty season weather where I was being transferred. Well, I was pretty shocked to find out that wasn’t the case in the least. I moved into a dwelling that I practically purchased sight unseen. And it was late fall when I finally managed to get settled. The dwelling did come with a new Heating, Ventilation & A/C appliance which included a new gas furnace. I figured that would be entirely fine. So you can likely imagine my complete shock when I was never sizzling in my dwelling however the gas heating appliance seemed to be running regularly. I called the Heating, Ventilation & A/C appliance people and they checked it all out. My gas heating appliance was awesome and my concern basically lay elsewhere. One of my new colleagues helped me understand that a dwelling had to be perfectly tight in order to be sizzling in the nippy season. This was certainly news to me. So this year I spent a bit of cash on making sure that I have the tightest dwelling in the area.
