He Installed Window AC Units

window AC units aren’t terribly expensive, but they don’t look as nice and they take a lot of electricity.

Being a landlord sounds like such an easy job. People sign a contract to live in the spaces you provide and then you collect money each month. While this is partially true, it’s only part of what I do. I’m also responsible for responding to my tenants and making sure everything in the rental properties are working properly and keeping an eye on their behavior. For the most part, I’ve never rented to anyone crazy. There are some people that don’t quite understand that they’re renting though, and they make changes to the properties thinking that they own the place. Before my tenants are allowed to move in, I make them sign a contract stating that they can’t change anything structurally and if they make any cosmetic changes, they are responsible for it before moving out. I didn’t always do this, but you know what they say about one person ruining it for everyone. There was a previous tenant who took it upon himself to install window AC units into several of the windows, even though we had central AC. He never complained to me about the temperature of the house, but apparently it wasn’t good enough. window AC units aren’t terribly expensive, but they don’t look as nice and they take a lot of electricity. I didn’t say anything about the AC units because I knew they could be taken down, but he never took them down when he left. I tried reaching out to him about coming and getting them, but he never answered my calls. Now I’m left with several window AC units that I don’t want.
