Alexa has been talking to the thermostat this whole time

I’m not sure if this was from the dirty indoor air, the fluctuating temperatures, or the stress of paying the heating and cooling tech all the time

For the longest time I have been extremely uncomfortable in this house. Before you start making any judgments, let me tell you that it is a wonderful little building on a nice piece of property in a beautiful neighborhood. I actually love everything surrounding my household and the structure itself. However, I do not love the feeling of my indoor air when it is randomly changing temperatures throughout the day. If you have ever wandered from one room to another and realized that every space was a different temperature and those temperatures changed rapidly from hour to hour, you might understand how frustrating it is to have an unreliable HVAC plan. For the longest time we could not figure out what was going on with the indoor air temperature control devices. We even called the local heating, cooling, and air quality control dealership every month for a full furnace and air conditioning unit inspection, diagnostic appointment, and maintenance service. No matter what, it still felt like our indoor air was in control of its own temperature and quality throughout the day. It was getting to the point where I was being negatively affected by the unpredictable air temperature changes to the extent that I was coming down with respiratory illnesses. I’m not sure if this was from the dirty indoor air, the fluctuating temperatures, or the stress of paying the heating and cooling tech all the time. It wasn’t until last week that we finally found out what was wrong with the HVAC system – our smart thermostat was talking to Alexa. Every time we accidentally used words like, hot, cold, higher, or lower… Alexa was listening in, and telling our thermostat to change the HVAC settings.
