When you are the only business, you can charge more locally

When you have Monopoly, you are able to charge more for your services.

If I was the only man with corn, potatoes, and beans, I could charge as much as I preferred.

If I was the only car dealership in the town with trucks and SUVs, I could easily jack up prices as high as I prefer. Of course, a ton of people would complain, however that’s capitalism… My family and I own a one-of-a-kind and particular business. The people I was with and I regularly rent commercial and Industrial appliances. The items in our warehouse include A/C appliances, boilers, oil furnaces, chillers, and steam boilers. The people I was with and I regularly rent a number of these items to commercial companies all over the state. The people I was with and I also regularly rent a small amount of items to individuals, however the bulk of our business comes from commercial and Industrial companies. The people I was with and I ship all over the country and all of us guarantee delivery within 24 hours. Because all of us are the only commercial and industrial appliance rental maintenance in the immediate area, all of us charge more for the maintenance and rental costs. All kinds of companies have made complaints about the rates, however all of us need to stay competitive in order to make profits. Our rates on boilers and chillers are more costly than the national average, however it costs money to maintain the appliances! Each one of our appliances is regularly worked on, cleaned, and sanitized after every use. The people I was with and I also need a warehouse with 25,000 sqft to house all of the industrial appliances. Commercial rental space certainly doesn’t come cheap. When local clients are able to see that all of us are the only pick in town, it doesn’t feel like a giant deal to spend a few more dollars.
