The smell in the hotel room was overwhelming
Several years ago, my sister got married.
She decided to have the wedding at a resort.
My sister and her fiance planned the wedding for a year. They didn’t miss any details and the reception hall looked like a fairy tale. They had seven different foods on the buffet table and a four tier wedding cake made from chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla flavors. They hired a band to play rock and roll songs from the 1970’s and 1980’s. My wife and I made reservations to stay in a hotel during the festivities. We would have stayed at the resort, but the daily rate on the rooms was outrageous. Instead, we ended up in a well known chain a mile down the road. I was happy to find a hotel close with cheap rates, but as soon as we arrived, I knew why the room was so cheap. The smell in the room was overwhelming and the source was the HVAC system. The entire room was filled with the terrible odor and the small got worse and worse as we got closer to the HVAC system. My wife called the front desk to complain about the HVAC system. They didn’t seem worried about our concerns, but they did send a maintenance person to the room. The maintenance person told us not to worry about the smell. He told us that the HVAC system was working just fine. We couldn’t stay in that room and continue to smell the horrible odor, so my wife and I checked out of the room and went to stay at the resort with my sister.
