While the bank is closed, we will upgrade the ventilation ductwork

We called area food truck vendors and we will have more than a dozen different cuisines represented on that day

The downtown bank has been open since 1922. For 50 years, the bank functioned as the only Savings and Loan office in a 70 mile zone. My family was one of the original bank holders and I am a sitting member of the board today. My dad was a member during the 1970’s. That was the last time the bank made updates and renovations. It was during this time that the bank added central heat and air conditioning to the entire building. That was the last time that the ventilation ductwork was changed, upgraded, or even assessed for repairs. A month ago, we decided to close the main branch for necessary repairs. One of those repairs was replacing all of the heating and air conditioning equipment. We found out that the ductwork needed to be replaced throughout the entire building. It was one of the major renovation projects and a costly hit to our budget. No one on the board anticipated spending $55,000 to update the ventilation equipment and ductwork. It was a hefty bill, but a necessary expense. All of the renovations are completed and the bank is scheduled to open on the first day of next month. We are having a grand opening celebration to kick off the new building. We called area food truck vendors and we will have more than a dozen different cuisines represented on that day. We even have live music scheduled to appear. We are going to have events for the kids and a few contests with prizes. It’s going to be a great way for the bank to celebrate being in the town for 100 years.
