I have local dealers trying to partner with me, is that a unbelievable idea?

Hello fellow owners of house comfort businesses.

I hope most people here is doing well this week.

I have had someone approach myself and others about a supplier proposition and I wanted to get some feedback from people in the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier before moving forward on a decision. I’ve had a local contractor reach out to myself and others asking about partnering with our house comfort supplier and Heating and Air Conditioning specialists for construction projects. On paper, I recognize this sounds like a beautiful idea. More tasks for our Heating and Air Conditioning specialists mean raises and more money all around. It seems like such a win-win kind of situation, I recognize I’d be a fool not to take it. However, I’m worried that it might be too unbelievable to be true. I’ve seen a lot of cases of construction workers and local dealers being sued over petty things, mistakes or circumstances over which the local dealers had no control (like the global pandemic for example!). I wanted to get some of your opinions on whether or not you recognize it’s wise for an Heating and Air Conditioning provider like myself to partner with local dealers on construction tasks. I’ve seen companies do it successfully and, to be honest, I’ve never seen this style of partnership done unsuccessfully. I’m wondering, though, do I not hear about terrible cases of Heating and Air Conditioning providers and local contractor team ups because they’re constantly a unbelievable idea or are the Heating and Air Conditioning providers that teamed up with local dealers and failed all out of business? Please let myself and others know your thoughts on this in the comments. I’m interested to see what you guys think. Thanks in advance.
