This weekend I am going to the lodge with our parents.

The lodge is owned by our Grandparents who undoubtedly haven’t updated any of it.

I don’t think why but they all love to meet up during the fall. I still question why every one of us can’t do mid summer. On cold evenings it feels appreciate the cool air breezes right through the walls and windows. The fireplace is the only thing that keeps the lodge heated and it undoubtedly only heats up the living room. I should say it’s more of an open concept besides the bedrooms. The kitchen is on the other side of the living room so it gets some heat but I particularly can know a difference in the temperature. The positive there is electricity and outlets so this year I begged our father to buy a portable space heater. He knows I complain about it and when our mother heard I asked for that she said option up 2. I think she wants 1 for her room as well. My parents have had little arguments about the thermostat these past few weeks. Every day our mom turns up the thermostat to 68 degrees but as soon as our dad get’s beach home from whatever he is doing he turns it back down to 65 degrees. I swear I know he turns the air conditioner on because I layer up every evening! He appreciates the cold though, he works in a cooler for our local grocery store. He says he spends more time there than he does somewhere else. I’ll never argue his viewpoint but I’m cheerful I got our space heater!

This weekend I’m going to the cabin with our parents.

The cabin is owned by our Grandparents who honestly haven’t upgraded any of it.

I don’t think why but they all like to meet up while I was in the fall. I still question why the people I was with and I can’t do mid summer. On chilly days it feels prefer the cool air breezes right through the walls and windows. The fireplace is the only thing that keeps the cabin heated and it honestly only heats up the residing room. I should say it’s more of an open concept besides the study rooms. The kitchen is on the other side of the residing room so it gets some heat however I honestly can think a difference in the temperature. The positive there is electricity and outlets so this year I begged our father to buy a portable space heater. He knows I complain about it and when our mother heard I asked for that he said option up 2. I believe he wants 1 for his room as well. My parents have had little arguments about the control component these past few weeks. Every afternoon our mom turns up the control component to 80 degrees but as soon as our Mom get’s cabin from whatever he is doing he turns it back down to 65 degrees. I swear I think he turns the A/C on because I layer up every night! He prefers the chilly though, he works in a cooler for our local grocery store. He says he spends more time there than he does someplace else. I’ll never argue his viewpoint but I’m ecstatic I got our space heater!

As I sit on the chair with my feet up on the footrest feeling the warmth of the fireplace heat I ponder what I am going to do this weekend.

I recognize my dad is going to go fishing with my Grandpa and they will try to get myself and others to join them.

My mother will spend time with my l Grandma baking and wonderful with wine on the back deck of the cottage. That leaves myself and others and my sibling. My sibling prefers to hike and I saw her pack everything she needs for her hiking adventure. I recognize I want to swim and check out the waterfall that is about a mile into the woods. It’s too cold to dive in the water though as the fall temperatures are no joke here. I packed a couple books and my space gas furnace for the room I sleep in. I also packed my slippers because the floors are harshly cold. At beach cabin the two of us have radiant heated floors so I never wear them. The two of us come to the cottage every year so I prepare for the worst. My Grandpa told myself and others last year that this cottage was her fathers so she never really wanted to replace it. She did the electricity though although she really needs to add new heating although she is content with just using the fireplace. I recognize my dad won’t replace it as well but if she hands it down to myself and others someday I am going to hire a heating specialist to replace the heating and put new windows in. I want to be comfortable when I go to the cottage. Currently I don’t recognize any comfort especially at night.

I l earned that it’s much easier with a iphone reminder that has an alarm connected to it.

I have gotten into the habit of creating agendas on my smartphone planner app in addition to then using alarms to remind me of when I need to complete particular jobs. It’s drastically helpful for me as I tend to be forgetful for much of the time. In the past I occasionally made appointments at the medical professional or doctor’s office months in advance only to forget about them by the time of their arrival. Some medical offices will charge you a fee if you miss their appointment or fail to reschedule at least 48 hours in advance of the original appointment itself. The worst offenders for this policy have to be psychiatrists. They seem to be shameless with all of the fees they’re more than blissful to throw in your face if you have a serious emergency in your life in addition to can’t possibly make it to the appointment or reschedule within the 48 hour time window. And the fact that their job is to help with mental health makes me even more infuriated by the situation. Another thing I struggle to remember all of the time is when I last changed the filter in my central air conditioner unit. I l earned that it’s much easier with a iphone reminder that has an alarm connected to it. That way I will get a handy notification when it’s time to change my Heating, Ventilation, in addition to A/C filter again. So far, I haven’t forgotten to change my Heating, Ventilation, in addition to A/C once since creating the reminder. I need to do this with every single thing in my life that is time sensitive.
