On our first work fresh out of school, I had many primary responsibilities.
I worked at a sizable box store.
On any given day, I might bring shopping carts into the corrals and into the store, or I might work in the beach house, home & garden section. Whenever our fellow co-workers complained about their work, I would gently remind them that, at the particularly least, they had a powerful air conditioner to cool them off as they slaved away at their cash registers or when stocking the shelving units inside the stores. On the other hand, I was almost regularly sweating our butt off! I especially liked how anytime one of the workers in our department called out sick, someone who normally worked inside the temperature-controlled part of the store would be sent over to assist me, as well as they would act like it was the worst thing in the world. Strangely enough, I was never asked to work inside the store to cover someone else who called out. What a true joy that would be to be able to work in the air conditioner for just once! So at various times, I would clear the parking lot of carts, nearly by myself, as well as then take a few moments to rest just inside the building to take fortune of the a/c. One of the assistant managers would imply that I was slacking off, however I was just trying to cool myself down! When things were genuinely busy, as well as the carts were piling up despite our most strenuous efforts, those same managers would sarcastically offer a “team building” exercise in which they will go out as well as help us! Fat opportunity that would ever happen!
