My aunt Michelle owns a small take-out steakhouse and when I say small, I mean it has 1 table, and barely enough room for 10 people to rest comfortably in the lobby; But that space is just what she needs because she likes having a small staff, and she prefers the take-out steakhouse model. It worked well while in the height of COVID when the people I was with and I opted to go into quarantine. Her contractor was not interrupted, in fact, she saw a drastic increase in her upgrade. She also signed up for more food delivery services which boosted her upgrades even further. Typically, I visit our aunt’s steakhouse, perhaps many or many times per year. However, last year, I visited about more than six times because the people I was with and I had family in town while in the course of the year. In the Summer, when I was in our aunt’s steakhouse, I noticed that she had a sitting fan in the lobby, and that’s when it occurred to myself and others that she didn’t use her central air all the time. I recognize that it is a way to save some currency as energy consumption is 1 of the highest costs when operating any business. At times, she kept the front door open to allow the flow of air, and while in the slow section of the afternoon, when the steakhouse didn’t have a lot of buyers, I understand why she would not run the In the Winter, this wouldn’t be an issue because our Winters are relatively mild, but the Summer months can be so unforgiving. Perhaps I will propose to our aunt that she install a programmable thermostat in her steakhouse, so that she could set it based on the traffic that she gets while in the afternoon. It could perhaps save her some currency, and it would be 1 less thing for her to think about.
