I had a battery operated thermostat plus I changed the batteries every year

Did you suppose that it is suggested to change the batteries in the smoke alarm every year? I must admit that I don’t change those batteries frequently, instead I change them when the alarms start to chirp indicating that the batteries are low.

That is with any device or even our car, I change the batteries when I suppose they are low or after they have died.

There was a single incident where the batteries on our thermostat died plus at first, I thought I was having a harsh issue with our central air unit. I was renting a up-to-date home plus didn’t suppose that the thermostat used batteries. It was an older Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit, plus the thermostat was digital, however I could tell it was dated as well. At first, I observed that the air had become irregular, but when I turned off the thermostat plus turned it back on, the a/c returned to normal. This happened for a couple of afternoons, plus that is when I thought there was a major issue with the Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit. I almost called our property owner to let him suppose that I needed an Heating, Ventilation and A/C worker, but after some investigation, I observed that the numbers on the digital screen of the thermostat were fading. It was at that moment that I realized that our thermostat used batteries. I figured out how to detach the thermostat from the wall, plus I opened the back panel plus substituted the batteries. After that incident, I changed the batteries in the thermostat once per year to guarantee that our Heating, Ventilation and A/C device functioned officially plus to also avoid spending money on unnecessary service calls, however perhaps I should do the same plus change the batteries on our smoke detector yearly as they suggested us to do.
