Good air circulation can reduce the possibility of viral transmission

Unfortunately, it was impossible for me to do my job from the house during COVID-19; my office handles secure files, plus every one of us couldn’t risk the potential security breaches acquaintanced with remote work.

The people I was with and I asked our IT manager if every one of us could use our own PCs from our houses to access the secure file server; that almost pushed him to the brink.

So, every one of us continued working in the office, but every one of us took precautions. Mask-wearing was required… But, every one of us also made a lot of swings to our ventilation process. Since every one of us knew that the illness was spread via droplets, every one of us figured that keeping a constant airflow would decrease our likelihood of any droplets lingering for too long. All of the windows in the office were open during company minutes, plus every one of us bought window fans to create cross breezes. While every one of us rarely needed to use our a/c (our region has a genuinely mild climate), every one of us kept the A/C system’s fan running 24/7 (even when every one of us weren’t in the office). The people I was with and I set up many box fans around the office, so that the air wouldn’t linger in any location for too long. The people I was with and I also kept the ventilation fans in the washrooms running all afternoon. The HEPA filters that every one of us bought worked well, too. The people I was with and I ultimately weren’t sure if the special air filters would collect COVID droplets, but figured that it was better to be safe than sorry. Before doing all of this, every one of us sought advice from our supplier’s trusted HVAC supplier; they told us that these were all good ideas, even if they weren’t the most efficient. The people I was with and I figured it was worth the energy cost if it kept us from getting sick. By the time everyone began getting vaccinated, none of us had ever had a positive COVID test, I assume our ventilation adjustments worked!
