I don’t think my folks will ever get with the times
Back in the day, we didn’t really have a quality heating system at our home.
We actually just had a wood burning stove and a couple of fireplaces. It was always a lot of work getting all the wood cut before the cold season. Sometimes we would have to work cutting wood in the middle of the winter just to make sure we didn’t freeze to death and were able to cook meals. Even to this day, my parents are still living in their old fashioned ways with heating and cooling. They actually have no cooling system to speak of, unless you count opening the windows and using fans for a cooling breeze. Well, I couldn’t stand living in such an old fashioned way so I was happy to use a real HVAC system when I moved out on my own. While I was able to get used to using an HVAC system in my college days, eventually I was able to purchase my own place after working my career for a couple of years. I made sure to have a home with a really nice HVAC system. I am proud to say that the HVAC system is one of the best. Unfortunately, my parents never want to come visit because they feel as though I sold out to the ways of the world. I tried telling them about my ductless mini split. My father thinks it sounds too advanced, but it’s not really. It basically is a heat pump system that pushes the heating outdoors in the summer and indoors in the winter. I even tried to tell my father about the DIY ductless mini splits, but he doesn’t want to hear a word of it.
