I knew my boss would offer the guy a job
I knew a guy named John in high school. We weren’t best friends, but we knew each other a little bit. John hung out with the jocks and the sports guys and I hung out with the band geeks. We met up again when both of us applied to the HVAC technical program. The technical program was every night at the high school and it took seven months to complete the course. I sausage on the day that I signed up for the class and we were both accepted to the program. John and I found out that we had a lot of things in common and we became very good friends. When the technical program was finished, I accepted a job close to home. John accepted a job about 2 hours away. He moved out of the city and I didn’t see the guy for another five years. When he decided to move back to town, he gave me a call. He wanted to know where I was working and he asked me if I could help him get a job working for the same HVAC company. I told John to send me his resume. The guy was very busy during the past five years and he had a very impressive resume. I knew my boss would offer the guy a job. Sure enough, a couple of days later, John called with an update on the job search. My boss offered the guy a job working in our commercial HVAC repair and installation division. John had a great deal of commercial experience and he would be a great asset to the team.
